hey guys welcome back to let's play guitar in today's lesson I'm gonna show you how to play the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song of thing on finger style guitar and this is a really popular version and this is an arrangement by Wolfgang retin-a boats popularized by the summer jump and we're gonna learn how to play this one step by step now my guitar is in standard tuning I'm not sure if the original version is supposed to have a change in the top string but whatever the change there is I've tried to convert it into standard tuning okay so d g/b sanitary alright so let's get right into it ok so the first part that we're going to learn is this okay that's what we're going to learn first than everything else so signing off one D minor you have second fit on third string first fret on second string and then pert Fred on second string along with that going to big fourth string open Watsky and then so you're going to pick that third fret once skin-on second string and then open on fourth string so okay then you have third fret on second string and open on the first string I don't know okay next we come over here once skinned so this will be your beef fat guard okay and we're here you need first read on the fifth string and then you have third fret on second string and further straight again on the first string that's why you have a bar over here okay so first fret first string third fret second string and first read on fifth string and even though I'm placing my ring finger over here but I'm not really playing it okay so we're playing fifth string second string and first string picking them all three strings together so after picking all three strings together you pick first two strings individually and then you pick fifth string so Natsuki and then one and three on the first string like that [Applause] all right now come to see major so over here you need third fret on the 5th string and 1st fret on 2nd string all right I'm not really using the middle finger we're here our first string is open so here I'm picking one skein first two strings and the bass note which is in the fifth string all three strings picking together then big flash two strings together pick the bass not so and three and one on the second string so that's what we've learned so far and now so hey what we're doing is we're picking fourth string open along with that we're going to do a hammer on from 1 to 3 on the second string right after doing that we're going to pick two more times on that fourth string open okay okay and now you're going to repeat everything that we've learned from the beginning once again I'm gonna show you something over here the second time around when we did this you can do instead of you can do so instead of the you know the hammer line you can straight up straight away go to third fret on the second string along with that fourth string open and then two more times on the fourth string okay so once key first time around second day I guess so instead of you can do okay so that's an option then you can do now the next time next part to begin to learn will go like this so starting a same third fret on third string first rate on second string open on fourth string and third fret on the second string pick together and once game pad for the second string open and fourth string sir and third foot on second string and open on first string one ski and now so this is going to be third fret on the first string and the top string six string okay going to pick both of those strings together then pick first string and top string separately and three and five on the first string okay so from here okay [Laughter] one skinny so this is going to be open on the fifth string and you've got six fret on the first string where both for those students strings to get up pick first ring by itself fifth string by itself then you have five and three on the first string so okay so from over here and then so this is going to be open on 4th string and 5th fret on the first string pick them together and powerful on second string and then fourth string open again so from over here okay and now you come over here one ski so this is going to be third fret on second string open on for a string in first fret on fifth string and for us first string pick together then first string by itself fifth string by itself third fret on first string and then you have fifth fret on for a string and fourth string open then third fret on second string and then open on for three again so let's take it from the beginning over here and then okay okay and are in the brilliant so this is going to be three and six on the second string and open on first string and fifth string pick together first string with fifth string myself at first fret on the first ring and then a major court the stomach down or you can do it like that this is how Fleming goes strumming where you do this sort of thing where you go your third string sorry third finger second finger and first finger and you strum like that okay so okay so it will come with practice if you don't wanna do that you can just do a simple strong sometimes I do the Fleming coercion and sometimes I just do a normal strum okay so let's review what we've learned from this spot [Laughter] okay now what's gonna happen is everything that we've learned from the beginning for this arrangement which is chemically repeat all over again except that in the very end there will be a little change which I want to explain to you right now so instead of doing you know when we did this this is where we ended it right instead of that you do so see this was the first time and then let me show you how to play this little part first and then I'm gonna you know play through the whole arrangement so same thing third fret and sixth fret on the second string and then open and open on first row first string and fifth string together and for a stream by itself v stream itself then three and one on second string and then you've got open on 4th string 2nd fret on the third string 3rd fret on the second string pick all three strings together two times the first time was 2nd time when you repeat the whole thing and then you come towards the end you do okay okay now I'm gonna play through the entire arrangement that we've learnt at this point I'm gonna go slow so you can see everything that's happening and there was a first but now repeat everything all over again okay so you saw the little changes that we made in the end okay now we come to the next part of the arrangement so during the very ending in the last part we were on over here on dimana and we did this two times so taking from there we go into the next spot so as I said before you could do that thing on D minor two times you miss a big two times over here okay that's where we left and now come with C major so third fret on fifth string first red on second string open on first string and you need to pick fifth string second string and first string together so 2 times D minor C and two times on b-flat so first read on fifth string third fret on the second string and first read again on the first string names and third film forestry okay so and now this is basically your image and you instead of open on first string you're going to have fifth fret on the first string which is why you're gonna have to have a bar over here with the help of your index finger on 2nd fret or fourth string third string and second string our fifth string is open and I'm fostering this fifth fret okay strum or there or you can do this okay and then so that's going to be fifth fret on second string you can still have to hold on to that bar over here and then second fret on second string and then that's going to be open on fifth string and 2nd fret on third string okay so in our same thing and just study will move this position one fret up so the bar moves your third fret and this little finger moves to the sixth fret okay so then six fit on second string third fret and 2nd fret on touch shrink and open so open on second string on 5th string sorry ok okay and now so that's going to be open on fifth string second fret on fourth string and third string when you strum with the help of your index finger your dimes they move this shape one fed-up okay so third fret on fourth string and that string come back to second okay okay the next part we're going to learn is this okay so this is going to be open on the fourth string and you have sixth fret on second string and fifth fret on the first string okay pick three strings together one two three three times one two and three then you have got fifth fret on the first string with the help of your ring finger you need to add one more fret over here so that's six and six on first and second strings just one time and then go back to fifth fret on for a string like that and over here you have third fret on fifth string and first string 1 2 3 4 times so 1 2 3 4 and it immediately afterwards you have to move two frets up so like that so from the beginning and yeah ending between you can do a little slap over here with the help of your thumb you know a slap on the top string so now go back to the snake over here okay in the very end can you do this so this is basically using their two fingers to place them on fifth fret of fifth string and fourth string I could go to Fritz down on that fit one Fred down second faith open it open on 5th and 4th strings all right now the next part of Ilan will be this then we go to the next spot okay so start straight so this is going to be third fret on the second string open on first string okay then open on 4th string and first fret on the first string pick together and second fight on 3rd Street and three and five on the first string Lansky amen so this is three and three on fifth string and first string pick together then one and open on the first string so and now so this is going to be one and one on top string and first string pick together and three and five on the first string and then three and three on the fifth string and first string we have so from the beginning on the spot okay once skin and then so this is going to be open in between over here you're going to play open on Third Street and then 1 & 3 on forestry okay so okay so this is going to be fifth fret on the first string and along with that even to pay open on fourth string open on third string and then three and one on first string okay let's go for that so far and now so this is open on 1st 5th string and open on first string played together one and open on 4th Street and now so this is going to be open on 4th string and 3rd fret on 2nd string pick together and see confer on 3rd Street ok open on Front Street okay then one on second string and third fret on the second string along with that open and fourth string so you once again like that so from the start on this spot right now okay so that completes your for the first segment now the next segment we'll collect this [Applause] it's that's how it's gonna start you start again via third fret on second string open on first string so this is going to be first fret on first string open on fourth string pick together been taught fret second string okay in an open and first read on the first ring okay amen so three and three on fifth string and first string and one and three on first string okay so from the start and then open on fifth string fifth fret on first string pick together okay and three and one on 4th Street and they'll be fat god so first fret on fifth string third fret and third fret on third string and 2nd string pick together ok so from the start for the second segment and now so this is going to be third fret on the second string open on first string and one three five on first string so and then so this is going to be third fret on top string 6 fret on first string pick together MN third fret on 2nd string and 1st string and you have to lift the fingers because you want to give that mute effect right off of that so like that ok you don't have to go ok just then go to the next spot okay that's an expert one skin so this is open on 1st shrink sorry first fret on first string and open on 4th string pic together then three and open on for a string okay and then third fret on the second string open on fourth string together okay sir okay so the screen to be second fret on third string third fret on 2nd Street and open into a string so like that the next part of this arrangement okay so we've learned a very important part the whole part in this arrangement where we had two segments and there was a change in the second segment okay so let's review everything review everything let's be the first segment and then the second segment so it sounded like this Sicard one now right after that you have to go to the next part of this arrangement so let's learn that alright so the next part goes in this okay so we've got 5th fret on the first string we've got 6 red on 2nd 3 and you have 7th fret of that string so that's gonna be a D minor okay just gonna strum down over here and then you have third fret on fourth string third string and 2nd string and you have 6th fret on the first string okay and in between you can do a slap if you want ok that's optional and then so I've learned this before part this part is 1 this before you've got 5th fret on first string 6 fret on 2nd string open on the 4th string 1 2 & 3 okay three times MN so this is going to be third fret on fifth string and you have 5th fret on the first string pick them together okay and then third fret on the first string so okay and now G minor car so you gonna have a complete bar across all the strings on the third fret okay and you're gonna have 5th fret on fifth string and fourth string G minor part and then D minor and then so open and open on first string and fifth string then one and open on the first shrink serve and then add fit on second string and open on the fourth string so third second felon third string third fret on the second string and open on forestry they're been everything I love working so from the start [Applause] start again same thing see Digimon my own that completes our arrangement okay so in the very end same thing open on fifth string and first string first rate on first string open on first d-minor just going to strum over there open on fifth string open on fourth string second fret third string and third fret on the second string not gonna be the first okay so you can do it with your index finger just like that or you can do the flamenco technique and now if you want to extend the arrangement you can play the whole arrangement although again okay so you basically play the whole thing one more time if you want in the official version it's only played the whole arrangement is played this once which makes it about one minute 30 seconds one minute 40 seconds or two minutes but if you want to extend the arrangement you know make it longer then you can play everything all over again so that is it for Pirates of the Caribbean theme song on finger sangeeta I hope you liked it make sure to check out more finger style guitar lessons in my channel there are lots of them and I have a complete playlist dedicated to that and yeah that is it for today thanks for all the support I really appreciate it I'll see you guys in the next lesson till then take care and good bye
