How London's Crossrail project is helping boost wildlife in the capital – BBC London



The London Crossrail project may not be running to budget or schedule, but it is having a surprisingly positive impact on wildlife.

The millions of tonnes of earth and other materials excavated in London was shipped to Wallasea Island, instead of going to landfill.

The sea had been washing away the coastline, but now a new nature reserve has been built with London soil and it’s been a massive boost for wild birds and seals.
